Display Arts: Corporate Interior

After the front entry remodel at Display Arts, a small group, including myself, were asked to create the new lobby experience. It was my job to create the conceptual design keeping in mind the following objectives:

  • Welcome clients & vendors to Display Arts’ space and brand

  • Re-enforce our capabilities (craftsmanship and creative)

  • Improve functionality

  • Consider materials used in our industry (faux brick or maple wood)

I started with the main focal point, the entry area (pictured to the left). My goal was to create a welcoming art piece with standard industry materials. To improve functionality, I removed the reception desk which had not been used in 10 years and brought in comfy seating to add a pop of color.

As I built out the two designs, I continued to use similar materials and execution. In the winning design, the maple slate pattern and faux brick were featured to connect the experience. Two separate seating areas were also introduced for breakout meetings or work areas.

With minimal changes, the concept art became a reality in a little over three months. The new entry experience has received rave reviews from clients as they are welcomed in the building. As a team, we enjoy meeting and working in the space.
